Dr. Kate McAnnally is grateful for the opportunity to be joining the Tall Grass veterinary team as a new doctor and looks forward to making a positive impact in animal health and wellbeing in our community.
Dr. McAnnally has wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She grew up in New England and studied biology at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, earning a bachelor’s degree. Her professional interests before attending a veterinary medical program included human public health and research, but her love for animals has always persisted, and she pursued vet school with special interests in shelter medicine, preventive care, and soft tissue surgery. During vet school, she volunteered with numerous shelters and organizations that provided access to veterinary medical and surgical care in underserved communities in the US and internationally.
She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree as well as a Professional Certificate in Shelter Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. She had lived in Colorado prior to vet school and is excited to be back home and is eager to begin practicing medicine with Tall Grass Animal Hospital.
Dr. McAnnally currently shares her home with her husband and their 4 rescue dogs and 2 cats. She loves to travel and enjoys almost any outdoor activity, but especially trail running, hiking with the dogs, and biking.
